Ekaterina Skladmann | Local on-site Group, Berlin/Germany

Ekaterina Skladmann was born in Baranowitschy, Belarus. She studied Fine Arts at the Belarusian State University of Culture and Art in Minsk (BY), received a BA in Textile and Surface Design at Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin (DE) and a MA in Set Design (Szenischer Raum) at the TU Berlin (DE).

Ekaterina works with the material porcelain, as an elegant symbol of memory and the fragility of the past.  The main theme of her work is memories, the disappearance of memories and their transformation in the context of time. She takes elements from documentary stories and creates new narratives exploring, among others, what was previously invisible.
